Series description<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

More than half of the world’s population live in cities. The city is a purely social phenomenon, weakly associated with the biological essence of man. This is a stage where both large-scale performances and little productions of various genres are played out. Being our snug home, cities represent the aggressive environment challenging us every single day. The interaction of a person with the urban medium is interesting for its dialectic nature. To a certain extent city equalizes its inhabitants, but simultaneously it acts as an important source of the social contrast. At the same time, the cities themselves are human-made artifacts and mirrors reflecting our cultural diversity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Diversity is the leitmotif of the City People project. My aim was to show the people\u2019s casual face through the prism of the urban environment, often avoiding a direct demonstration of the city itself. Project materials were collected in the cities of Russia, Georgia, Sweden, Tunisia, Israel, Ukraine, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Poland, Armenia, Albania, Greece, Azerbaijan, India, Romania, Turkey, Mexico, Spain and Lithuania.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
